These are a Flange Nut to DIN 6923. The Flange enables built up forces to be spread over a larger area, consequently resulting in lower surface pressure! They are also useful to cover Larger or Oversized holes and also mean that the use of a washer is not necessary. The Toothed Flange helps give excellent self-locking properties. They are normally used in conjunction with male threaded fasteners, ie: Bolts, Machine Screws and Studs and tightened up using Spanners, Sockets or Nut Runners. Across Flats and Depth will be to European DIN Standards
